Chroma Scape

The physicality and materiality of colour within Chroma Scape set up a spatial language, a visual tension between flatness, (opaque colour), illusory space, (transparent and gradient colour) and horizontality, visual spatial horizons. These painting are concerned with the horizon line and beyond. These gradient colour paintings function as abstract landscapes, which play with the illusion of the Horizon line. This inquiry into colour and horizon line disrupts the conventional space of landscape by combining the infinite horizon line. with the chromatic push and pull of the gradient colour line.
